A set of four similar portraits attributed to Sánchez Coello, also on card but of slightly smaller
dimensions (6 x 4.2 cm), is in the Musée du Louvre, Paris, inv. no. MI807-810 (fig.2). The Louvre
holds another very comparable portrait attributed to Sánchez Coello, also on card and of almost
exactly the same dimensions as the present work, inv. no. MI800 (fig.3.). Each of the portraits is
characterised by very close attention to the details of the dress and ruff.

July 2023, lot 306, for £44,450 (fig. 4).
